Illinois High School Basketball - Granite City nips Hazelwood West
January 4, 2023: Granite City, IL 62040 Granite City Warriors (Granite City, IL) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Hazelwood West Wildcats (Hazelwood, MO), 61-56 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Granite City upgrades its record to 8-8 on the season. The Warriors travel to Marquette Catholic (Alton, IL) to play the Explorers in a non-league bout on Friday, January 6. The Explorers go into the bout with a record of 9-6. Marquette Catholic won 68-61 in their recent non-league bout against Hillsboro (Hillsboro, IL)
Next up, the Wildcats play the Burroughs Bombers (St. Louis, MO) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 6. Hazelwood West will attempt to upgrade on its 0-5 season record.
