New York High School Basketball - Worcester thwarts Jefferson Central
January 4, 2023: Jefferson, NY 12093 The Worcester Wolverines (Worcester, NY) basketball knocked off the host Jefferson Central Jayhawks (Jefferson, NY), 34-24 in Wednesday's non-league test.
The Wolverines (5-3) will now prepare for their test against Morris Central (Morris, NY). The Mustangs go into the Section 4 Tri-Valley test with a 8-0 record. In their last test, Morris Central notched a victory over Milford Central (Milford, NY), 71-43, in a league test.
The Jayhawks now own a 1-8 record. They play next when they travel to Margaretville Central for a Section 4 Delaware County - Upper Delaware test on Friday, January 6. Jefferson Central will encounter a Blue Devils squad coming off a 52-36 non-league win over Deposit-Hancock (Deposit, NY). The Blue Devils record now stands at 5-0.
