California High School Basketball - Cardinal Newman tops Maria Carrillo
January 4, 2024: Santa Rosa, CA 95409 Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the Cardinal Newman Cardinals (Santa Rosa, CA) and the host Maria Carrillo Pumas (Santa Rosa, CA), saw Cardinal Newman's basketball squad knock off Maria Carrillo by a count of 57-43.
With the victory, Cardinal Newman upgrades its record to 14-2 on the campaign. The Cardinals travel to Brentwood School (Los Angeles, CA) to play the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Saturday, January 6. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 10-5. Brentwood School won 60-33 in their recent league challenge against Crossroads (Santa Monica, CA)
Next up, the Pumas play the Salesian College Preparatory Pride (Richmond, CA) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 6. Maria Carrillo will attempt to upgrade on its 10-4 season record. The Pride come into the challenge with a 4-7 record after their 47-42 league win over Pinole Valley (Pinole, CA).
