Illinois High School Basketball - McCracken County tops Massac County
January 4, 2024: Metropolis, IL 62960 Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the McCracken County Mustangs (Paducah, KY) and the host Massac County Patriots (Metropolis, IL), saw McCracken County's basketball squad knock off Massac County by a tally of 58-49.
With the victory, McCracken County improves its record to 11-2 on the campaign. The Mustangs host Madisonville-North Hopkins (Madisonville, KY) to play the Maroons in a non-league challenge on Friday, January 5. The Maroons come into the challenge with a record of 6-6. Madisonville-North Hopkins won 61-13 in their recent league challenge against Dawson Springs (Dawson Springs, KY)
Next up, the Patriots play the Goreville Blackcats (Goreville, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 6. Massac County will attempt to improve on its 12-3 season record. The Blackcats come into the challenge with a 17-1 record after their 63-56 non-league win over Mt. Zion (Mt. Zion, IL).
