The Asheville Cougars basketball squad (Asheville, NC), was outscored 72-58 in Saturday's non-league battle with the host Crest Chargers (Shelby, NC)

With the victory, Crest advances its record to 8-0 on the year. The Chargers travel to Huss (Gastonia, NC) to meet the Huskies in a 3A Big South battle on Tuesday, January 7. The Huskies enter the battle with a record of 7-3. Huss won 79-72 in their recent non-league battle against Hickory Ridge (Harrisburg, NC)
