In Saturday's non-league test, the Independence Tigers (Independence, LA) basketball squad defeated the visiting Sam Houston Broncos (Lake Charles, LA), by a score of 79-70.

Next, the Tigers clash with the Sumner Cowboys (Kentwood, LA) in a non-league test, on Monday, January 6. Independence will attempt to improve on its 10-9 season record. The Cowboys come into the test with a 1-9 record after their 65-55 league loss to Amite (Amite, LA).

The Broncos (14-12) will now prepare for their test against LaGrange (Lake Charles, LA). The Gators come into the non-league test with a 4-18 record.
