Jay County Patriots (Portland, IN) supporters left the game happy Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the visiting Muncie Central Bearcats (Muncie, IN), 34-28 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Jay County advances its record to 4-4 on the year. The Patriots travel to Adams Central (Monroe, IN) to face the Flying Jets in a Allen County match on Saturday, January 11. The Flying Jets enter the match with a record of 6-2. Adams Central won 47-37 in their recent non-league match against Parkway (Rockford, OH)

The Bearcats now own a 3-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Lafayette Jefferson for a North Central match on Friday, January 10.
