January 4, 2025: Amite, LA 70422 Jackson Prep Patriots (Jackson, MS) boosters left the game satisfied Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad triumph over the host Oak Forest Academy Yellowjackets (Amite, LA), 55-24 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Jackson Prep upgrades its record to 15-4 on the year. The Patriots travel to St. Joseph Catholic (Madison, MS) to face the Bruins in a MAIS 6A District 1 match on Tuesday, January 7. The Bruins enter the match with a record of 1-7.
The Yellowjackets now sport a 4-10 record. They put it on the line next when they host Parklane Academy for a MAIS 5A District 3 match on Tuesday, January 7. Oak Forest Academy will face a Pioneers squad coming off a 72-40 league win over Silliman Institute (Clinton, LA). The Pioneers record now stands at 10-4.
