The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Mahanoy Area Golden Bears (Mahanoy City, PA) and the visiting Minersville Battlin' Miners (Minersville, PA), observed Mahanoy Area's basketball team knock off Minersville by a score of 55-38.

The Golden Bears (5-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Our Lady of Lourdes Regional (Coal Township, PA). The Red Raiders come into the Schuylkill County 2 challenge with a 5-3 record. In their last challenge, Our Lady of Lourdes Regional prevailed over Weatherly (Weatherly, PA), 65-11, in a league challenge.
