The Giles Spartans basketball team scored 48 points and held the visiting Craig County Rockets to 25 in the Spartans non-league triumph on Wednesday.

The Spartans now sport a 1-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Eastern Montgomery for a non-league contest on Monday, January 10. Giles will battle a Mustangs team coming off a 50-11 league win over Covington (Covington, VA). The Mustangs record now stands at 6-5.

The Rockets (1-5) will now prepare for their contest against James River (Buchanan, VA). The Knights enter the non-league contest with a 2-2 record. In their last contest, James River triumphed over Glenvar (Salem, VA), 43-32, in a league contest.
