Maine High School Basketball - Waynflete nips Sacopee Valley
January 5, 2023: Portland, ME 04102 Waynflete Flyers (Portland, ME) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Sacopee Valley Hawks (Cornish, ME), 41-39 in a league bout.
With the victory, Waynflete upgrades its record to 4-3 on the campaign. The Flyers host Seacoast Christian (South Berwick, ME) to play the Guardians in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Guardians come into the bout with a record of 2-7. Seacoast Christian lost 46-27 in their recent non-league bout against North Yarmouth Academy (Yarmouth, ME)
Next up, the Hawks play the Traip Rangers (Kittery, ME) in a C South bout, on Saturday, January 7. Sacopee Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 4-5 season record. The Rangers come into the bout with a 2-4 record after their 59-51 league loss to St. Dominic (Lewiston, ME).
