New Mexico High School Basketball - Cibola nips West Mesa
January 5, 2023: Albuquerque, NM 87121 Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Cibola Cougars (Albuquerque, NM) and the host West Mesa Mustangs (Albuquerque, NM), saw Cibola's basketball squad hold off West Mesa by a tally of 42-39.
With the victory, Cibola improves its record to 2-3 on the campaign. The Cougars host Eldorado (Albuquerque, NM) to play the Golden Eagles in a non-league challenge on Thursday, January 12. The Golden Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 0-4.
Next up, the Mustangs play the Belen Eagles (Belen, NM) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, January 13. West Mesa will attempt to improve on its 2-3 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 0-2 record after their 24-22 non-league loss to Thoreau (Thoreau, NM).
