Iowa High School Basketball - St. Edmond nips Algona
January 5, 2024: Algona, IA 50511 St. Edmond Gaels (Fort Dodge, IA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Algona Bulldogs (Algona, IA), 57-52 in a league bout.
With the win, St. Edmond upgrades its record to 4-5 on the season. The Gaels host Eagle Grove (Eagle Grove, IA) to play the Eagles in a North Central bout on Monday, January 8. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 6-4. Eagle Grove won 80-50 in their recent non-league bout against North Iowa (Buffalo Center, IA)
Next up, the Bulldogs play the Garner-Hayfield/Ventura Cardinals (Garner, IA) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 6. Algona will attempt to upgrade on its 4-4 season record. The Cardinals go into the bout with a 5-5 record after their 33-19 non-league win over North Union (Armstrong, IA).
