In Friday's non-league match, the visiting Hodgeman County Longhorns basketball team scored a good 72-64 triumph over the Ashland Blue Jays.

In their next game, the Longhorns meet the Pawnee Heights Tigers (Rozel, KS) in a Southern Plains-Iroquois match, on Tuesday, January 9. Hodgeman County will attempt to better on its 6-2 season record.

With the defeat, Ashland moves to 2-5 on the year. The Blue jays host South Central (Coldwater, KS) to meet the Timberwolves in a non-league match on Tuesday, January 9.
