In Friday's league outing, the Cairo Syrupmakers (Cairo, GA) basketball squad edged the visiting Hardaway Hawks (Columbus, GA), by a count of 54-53.

The Syrupmakers (6-6) will now prepare for their outing against Thomasville (Thomasville, GA). The Bulldogs go into the non-league outing with a 3-7 record. In their last outing, Thomasville was tipped by Monroe (Albany, GA), 74-45, in a league outing.
