Tennessee High School Basketball - Independence nips Centennial
January 5, 2024: Thompson's Station, TN 37179 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Independence Eagles (Thompson's Station, TN) and the visiting Centennial Cougars (Franklin, TN), saw Independence's basketball squad hold off Centennial by a tally of 84-80.
With the victory, Independence improves its record to 14-3 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Page (Franklin, TN) to play the Patriots in a 4A District 10 challenge on Tuesday, January 9. The Patriots come into the challenge with a record of 8-8. Page won 63-49 in their recent league challenge against Summit (Spring Hill, TN)
Next up, the Cougars play the Brentwood Bruins (Brentwood, TN) in a 4A District 10 challenge, on Tuesday, January 9. Centennial will attempt to improve on its 8-7 season record. The Bruins come into the challenge with a 7-3 record after their 54-51 league loss to Franklin (Franklin, TN).
