With the victory, Spurger improves its record to 8-7 on the campaign. The Pirates host Burkeville (Burkeville, TX) to confront the Mustangs in a 1A Region IV District 28 challenge on Tuesday, January 9. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a record of 8-8. Burkeville lost 61-40 in their recent league challenge against Brookeland (Brookeland, TX)
Next up, the Cardinals confront the Goodrich Hornets (Goodrich, TX) in a 1A Region IV District 28 challenge, on Tuesday, January 9. High Island will attempt to improve on its 6-9 season record. The Hornets come into the challenge with a 0-11 record after their 100-43 league loss to Leggett (Leggett, TX).
