Georgia High School Basketball - Jasper County knocked off by Monroe Area
January 5, 2024: Monticello, GA 31064 The Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes basketball team scored 75 points and held the host Jasper County Hurricanes to 55 in the Purple Hurricanes non-league triumph on Friday.
The Purple Hurricanes now sport a 11-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Loganville for a non-league contest on Saturday, January 6. Monroe Area will battle a Red Devils team coming off a 89-61 league loss to Jefferson (Jefferson, GA). The Red Devils record now stands at 4-9.
The Hurricanes (10-4) will now prepare for their contest against East Jackson (Commerce, GA). The Eagles enter the non-league contest with a 7-7 record. In their last contest, East Jackson was defeated by Providence Christian Academy (Lilburn, GA), 72-64, in a league contest.
