Mississippi High School Basketball - Lanier holds off Wingfield
January 5, 2024: Jackson, MS 39203 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Lanier Bulldogs (Jackson, MS) and the visiting Wingfield Falcons (Jackson, MS), saw Lanier's basketball squad hold off Wingfield by a tally of 58-51.
With the victory, Lanier improves its record to 6-11 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host McComb (McComb, MS) to confront the Tigers in a 4A Region 6 challenge on Tuesday, January 9. The Tigers come into the challenge with a record of 13-4. McComb won 61-54 in their recent league challenge against Richland (Richland, MS)
Next up, the Falcons confront the Richland Rangers (Richland, MS) in a 4A Region 6 challenge, on Tuesday, January 9. Wingfield will attempt to improve on its 0-16 season record. The Rangers come into the challenge with a 6-12 record after their 63-32 league loss to Raymond (Raymond, MS).
