Mississippi High School Basketball - Bay Springs holds off Newton
January 5, 2024: Bay Springs, MS 39422 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Bay Springs Bulldogs (Bay Springs, MS) and the visiting Newton Tigers (Newton, MS), saw Bay Springs's basketball squad hold off Newton by a tally of 54-47.
With the victory, Bay Springs improves its record to 10-4 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Scott Central (Forest, MS) to confront the Rebels in a 2A Region 5 challenge on Tuesday, January 9. The Rebels come into the challenge with a record of 11-7. Scott Central won 37-34 in their recent non-league challenge against French Camp Academy (French Camp, MS)
Next up, the Tigers confront the Clarkdale Bulldogs (Meridian, MS) in a 2A Region 5 challenge, on Tuesday, January 9. Newton will attempt to improve on its 14-3 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 2-14 record after their 46-29 non-league loss to Enterprise (Enterprise, MS).
