Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Negaunee Miners (Negaunee, MI) and the host Iron Mountain Mountaineers (Iron Mountain, MI), saw Negaunee's basketball squad wallop Iron Mountain by a tally of 65-33.

With the victory, Negaunee improves its record to 9-0 on the campaign. The Miners host West Iron County (Iron River, MI) to play the Wykons in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, January 9. The Wykons come into the challenge with a record of 3-3. West Iron County won 63-30 in their recent non-league challenge against Forest Park (Crystal Falls, MI)

Next up, the Mountaineers play the Norway Knights (Norway, MI) in a Mid-Peninsula challenge, on Tuesday, January 9. Iron Mountain will attempt to improve on its 1-6 season record. The Knights come into the challenge with a 2-5 record after their 47-40 non-league loss to Munising (Munising, MI).
