In Friday's league match, the host Lexington Yellowjackets basketball team scored a tight 49-45 triumph over the West Davidson Dragons.

In their next game, the Yellowjackets meet the Salisbury Hornets (Salisbury, NC) in a 1A/2A Central Carolina game, on Wednesday, January 10. Lexington will attempt to move on its 5-9 season record. The Hornets enter the game with a 9-4 record after their 71-28 league win over East Davidson (Thomasville, NC).
