Tennessee High School Basketball - McMinn County crushes Rhea County
January 5, 2024: Evensville, TN 37332 McMinn County Cherokees (Athens, TN) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Rhea County Golden Eagles (Evensville, TN), 69-44 in a league bout.
With the win, McMinn County upgrades its record to 6-3 on the season. The Cherokees host Cleveland (Cleveland, TN) to play the Blue Raiders in a 4A District 5 bout on Friday, January 12. The Blue Raiders go into the bout with a record of 12-6. Cleveland won 50-36 in their recent non-league bout against Oak Ridge (Oak Ridge, TN)
Next up, the Golden Eagles play the Soddy Daisy Trojans (Soddy Daisy, TN) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 8. Rhea County will attempt to upgrade on its 12-8 season record. The Trojans go into the bout with a 8-9 record after their 59-23 league win over Red Bank (Chattanooga, TN).
