The Mt. Vernon Yellowjackets basketball team scored 40 points and held the host Ashland Arrows to 37 in the Yellowjackets league triumph on Thursday.

The Yellowjackets now sport a 8-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to West Holmes for a Ohio Cardinal contest on Saturday, January 8. Mt. Vernon will meet a Knights team coming off a 43-31 league win over Lexington (Lexington, OH). The Knights record now stands at 8-1.
