The Monroe Hornets basketball team scored 52 points and restricted the visiting Franklin Wildcats to 39 in the Hornets league victory on Thursday.

The Hornets now sport a 1-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Eaton for a non-league contest on Saturday, January 8. Monroe will battle a Eagles team coming off a 39-36 league win over Carlisle (Carlisle, OH). The Eagles record now stands at 4-6.

The Wildcats (1-6) will now prepare for their contest against Bishop Fenwick (Franklin, OH). The Falcons come into the non-league contest with a 6-7 record. In their last contest, Bishop Fenwick was defeated by Seton (Cincinnati, OH), 50-41, in a league contest.
