January 6, 2023: Ashland, OR 97520 The Ashland Grizzlies (Ashland, OR) basketball nipped the visiting Thurston Colts (Springfield, OR), 54-51 in Friday's league test.
The Grizzlies (5-5) will now prepare for their test against Crater (Central Point, OR). The Comets go into the 5A Midwestern test with a 10-3 record. In their last test, Crater got by Springfield (Springfield, OR), 61-44, in a league test.
The Colts now own a 7-6 record. They play next when they travel to Churchill for a 5A Midwestern test on Tuesday, January 10. Thurston will encounter a Lancers squad coming off a 82-51 non-league loss to Gresham (Gresham, OR). The Lancers record now stands at 11-1.
