California High School Basketball - Downtown Magnets thwarts Chavez

The Downtown Magnets Suns (Los Angeles, CA) basketball knocked off the host Chavez Eagles (San Fernando, CA), 72-64 in Friday's non-league test.

The Suns (8-6) will now prepare for their test against USC-MAE (Los Angeles, CA). The Trojans go into the Freeway test with a 3-3 record. In their last test, USC-MAE notched a victory over Aspire Ollin (Huntington Park, CA), 50-42, in a league test.

The Eagles now own a 9-8 record. They play next when they host Poly for a East Valley test on Monday, January 9. Chavez will encounter a Parrots squad coming off a 62-51 non-league loss to Los Angeles CES (Los Angeles, CA). The Parrots record now stands at 6-12.
