Cochranton Cardinals (Cochranton, PA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Maplewood Tigers (Guys Mills, PA), 79-47 in a league bout.

With the win, Cochranton upgrades its record to 3-7 on the season. The Cardinals travel to Conneaut Area (Linesville, PA) to play the Eagles in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 2-5. Conneaut Area won 62-58 in their recent non-league bout against Union City (Union City, PA)

Next up, the Tigers play the Reynolds Raiders (Greenville, PA) in a District 10 Region 2 bout, on Saturday, January 7. Maplewood will attempt to upgrade on its 2-8 season record. The Raiders go into the bout with a 2-5 record after their 38-27 non-league win over Commodore Perry (Hadley, PA).
