Oregon High School Basketball - Phoenix can't hold off Cottage Grove
January 6, 2023: Cottage Grove, OR 97424 The Cottage Grove Lions basketball team scored 62 points and restricted the visiting Phoenix Pirates to 61 in the Lions non-league victory on Friday.
The Lions now sport a 8-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Mazama for a non-league contest on Saturday, January 7. Cottage Grove will battle a Vikings team coming off a 59-45 non-league win over North Bend (North Bend, OR). The Vikings record now stands at 3-7.
The Pirates (7-6) will now prepare for their contest against Marshfield (Coos Bay, OR). The Pirates come into the non-league contest with a 7-6 record. In their last contest, Marshfield edged Klamath Union (Klamath Falls, OR), 53-47, in a non-league contest.
