Oregon High School Basketball - Phoenix tops South Umpqua
December 15, 2022: Phoenix, OR 97535 Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Phoenix Pirates (Phoenix, OR) and the visiting South Umpqua Lancers (Myrtle Creek, OR), saw Phoenix's basketball squad knock off South Umpqua by a tally of 83-66.
With the victory, Phoenix improves its record to 6-1 on the campaign. The Pirates host Douglas (Winston, OR) to play the Trojans in a non-league challenge on Friday, December 16. The Trojans come into the challenge with a record of 0-0.
Next up, the Lancers play the Cottage Grove Lions (Cottage Grove, OR) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, December 21. South Umpqua will attempt to improve on its 2-4 season record. The Lions come into the challenge with a 3-2 record after their 59-49 non-league loss to Elma (Elma, WA).
