Georgia High School Basketball - Gatewood tops Edmund Burke Academy
January 6, 2023: Eatonton, GA 31024 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Gatewood Gators (Eatonton, GA) and the visiting Edmund Burke Academy Spartans (Waynesboro, GA), saw Gatewood's basketball squad knock off Edmund Burke Academy by a count of 69-53.
With the victory, Gatewood upgrades its record to 8-2 on the campaign. The Gators host Thomas Jefferson Academy (Louisville, GA) to play the Jaguars in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, January 10. The Jaguars come into the challenge with a record of 4-2. Thomas Jefferson Academy won 83-48 in their recent league challenge against John Hancock Academy (Sparta, GA)
Next up, the Spartans play the Glascock County Panthers (Gibson, GA) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 7. Edmund Burke Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 1-11 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 0-5 record after their 68-30 league loss to Georgia Military College (Milledgeville, GA).
