Illinois High School Basketball - Normal University holds off Lanphier
January 6, 2023: Normal, IL 61761 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Normal University Pioneers (Normal, IL) and the visiting Lanphier Lions (Springfield, IL), saw Normal University's basketball squad hold off Lanphier by a tally of 47-43.
With the victory, Normal University improves its record to 11-5 on the campaign. The Pioneers travel to Tolono Unity (Tolono, IL) to confront the Rockets in a non-league challenge on Saturday, January 7. The Rockets come into the challenge with a record of 8-6. Tolono Unity lost 53-48 in their recent non-league challenge against Maroa-Forsyth (Maroa, IL)
Next up, the Lions confront the Lincoln Railsplitters (Lincoln, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 7. Lanphier will attempt to improve on its 9-5 season record. The Railsplitters come into the challenge with a 13-3 record after their 48-43 league win over Mahomet-Seymour (Mahomet, IL).
