Illinois High School Basketball - MacArthur can't hold off Sacred Heart-Griffin

January 6, 2023: Springfield, IL 62702

The Sacred Heart-Griffin Cyclones basketball team scored 50 points and restricted the visiting MacArthur Generals to 43 in the Cyclones league victory on Friday.

The Cyclones now sport a 13-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Normal University for a Central State Eight contest on Tuesday, January 10. Sacred Heart-Griffin will battle a Pioneers team coming off a 35-32 non-league loss to Highland Park (Highland Park, IL). The Pioneers record now stands at 6-13.

The Generals (9-10) will now prepare for their contest against Lanphier (Springfield, IL). The Lions come into the Central State Eight contest with a 2-14 record. In their last contest, Lanphier was nudged by Normal University (Normal, IL), 42-16, in a league contest.
