Virginia High School Basketball - Southwest Virginia Academy knocked off by New Covenant

January 6, 2023: Lynchburg, VA 24501

The New Covenant Gryphons basketball team scored 44 points and held the visiting Southwest Virginia Academy Conquerors to 30 in the Gryphons non-league triumph on Friday.

The Gryphons now sport a 6-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Virginia Episcopal School for a VISAA Blue Ridge contest on Tuesday, January 10. New Covenant will battle a Bishops team coming off a 36-31 non-league loss to Steward (Richmond, VA). The Bishops record now stands at 3-5.

The Conquerors (2-9) will now prepare for their contest against Carlisle (Axton, VA). The Chiefs enter the non-league contest with a 8-2 record.
