Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Pottsville Crimson Tide (Pottsville, PA) and the host Panther Valley Panthers (Lansford, PA), saw Pottsville's basketball squad hold off Panther Valley by a tally of 47-45.

With the victory, Pottsville improves its record to 3-2 on the campaign. The Crimson Tide host Blue Mountain (Schuylkill Haven, PA) to confront the Eagles in a Schuylkill County 1 challenge on Tuesday, January 10. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 9-2.

Next up, the Panthers confront the Shenandoah Valley Blue Devils (Shenandoah, PA) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 7. Panther Valley will attempt to improve on its 5-5 season record.
