Franklin Panthers (Franklin, NC) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Smoky Mountain Mustangs (Sylva, NC), 45-17 in a league bout.

With the win, Franklin upgrades its record to 9-1 on the season. The Panthers host West Henderson (Hendersonville, NC) to clash with the Falcons in a bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Falcons go into the bout with a record of 6-3. West Henderson won 41-8 in their recent non-league bout against Enka (Enka, NC)

Next up, the Mustangs clash with the Tuscola Mountaineers (Waynesville, NC) in a bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Smoky Mountain will attempt to upgrade on its 7-4 season record. The Mountaineers go into the bout with a 9-2 record after their 46-31 league loss to Pisgah (Canton, NC).
