California High School Basketball - Avenal ripped by Mt. Whitney
January 6, 2024: Visalia, CA 93277 The Mt. Whitney Pioneers basketball team scored 63 points and held the visiting Avenal Buccaneers to 28 in the Pioneers non-league triumph on Saturday.
The Pioneers now sport a 5-11 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Porterville for a East Yosemite contest on Tuesday, January 9. Mt. Whitney will meet a Panthers team coming off a 59-45 non-league win over Bakersfield (Bakersfield, CA). The Panthers record now stands at 7-9.
The Buccaneers (7-11) will now prepare for their contest against Tranquillity (Tranquillity, CA). The Tigers enter the West Sierra contest with a 4-11 record. In their last contest, Tranquillity was routed by Dos Palos (Dos Palos, CA), 10-8, in a non-league contest.
