January 6, 2024: Bloomfield, NJ 07003 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Bloomfield Bengals (Bloomfield, NJ) and the visiting Verona Hillbillies (Verona, NJ), saw Bloomfield's basketball squad hold off Verona by a tally of 44-42.
With the victory, Bloomfield improves its record to 4-3 on the campaign. The Bengals host Central (Newark, NJ) to confront the Blue Devils in a Super Essex - Liberty challenge on Tuesday, January 9. The Blue Devils come into the challenge with a record of 7-5. Central won 63-26 in their recent non-league challenge against East Side (Newark, NJ)
Next up, the Hillbillies confront the Payne Tech Lions (Newark, NJ) in a Super Essex - Colonial challenge, on Tuesday, January 9. Verona will attempt to improve on its 5-3 season record. The Lions come into the challenge with a 5-3 record after their 57-53 non-league loss to West Essex (North Caldwell, NJ).
