Alabama High School Basketball - Glenwood overwhelms Stratford Academy
January 6, 2024: Phenix City, AL 36868 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Glenwood Gators (Phenix City, AL) and the visiting Stratford Academy Eagles (Macon, GA), saw Glenwood's basketball squad wallop Stratford Academy by a tally of 57-21.
With the victory, Glenwood improves its record to 17-5 on the campaign. The Gators travel to Lee-Scott Academy (Auburn, AL) to confront the Warriors in a AISA AAA Region 1 challenge on Thursday, January 11. The Warriors come into the challenge with a record of 5-5. Lee-Scott Academy lost 52-41 in their recent non-league challenge against Edgewood Academy (Elmore, AL)
Next up, the Eagles confront the First Presbyterian Day Vikings (Macon, GA) in a GIAA AAAA/AAA District 6 challenge, on Tuesday, January 9. Stratford Academy will attempt to improve on its 7-7 season record. The Vikings come into the challenge with a 14-1 record after their 51-41 non-league win over Westfield School (Perry, GA).
