January 6, 2024: Oxford, MS 38655 Lafayette Commodores (Oxford, MS) fans were thrilled Saturday as they observed their soccer team knock off the visiting Pontotoc Warriors (Pontotoc, MS), 3-1 in a league challenge.
Next, the Commodores face the New Hope Trojans (Columbus, MS) in a 5A Region 1 challenge, on Friday, January 12. Lafayette will attempt to better on its 9-6 season record.
The Warriors now have a 12-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Corinth for a 5A Region 1 challenge on Tuesday, January 9. Pontotoc will face a Warriors team coming off a 3-1 league loss to New Hope (Columbus, MS). The Warriors record now stands at 8-9.
