In Monday's non-league test, the Ayden - Grifton Chargers (Ayden, NC) basketball squad trounced the host Southside Seahawks (Chocowinity, NC), by a score of 76-49.

Next, the Chargers clash with the North Pitt Panthers (Bethel, NC) in a 2A Eastern Plains test, on Tuesday, January 7. Ayden - Grifton will attempt to improve on its 6-6 season record. The Panthers come into the test with a 3-8 record after their 70-42 league loss to SouthWest Edgecombe (Pinetops, NC).

The Seahawks (1-8) will now prepare for their test against North East Carolina Prep (Tarboro, NC). The Husky come into the non-league test with a 8-2 record. In their last test, North East Carolina Prep bounced Perquimans (Hertford, NC), 55-54, in a league test.
