Iowa High School Basketball - Centerville can't hold off Fairfield
January 6, 2025: Fairfield, IA 52556 Fairfield Trojans (Fairfield, IA) supporters left the game happy Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the visiting Centerville Big Reds/Redettes (Centerville, IA), 70-68 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Fairfield advances its record to 2-6 on the year. The Trojans host Mt. Pleasant (Mt. Pleasant, IA) to face the Panthers in a Southeast match on Friday, January 10. The Panthers enter the match with a record of 1-7. Mt. Pleasant won 66-27 in their recent non-league match against New London (New London, IA)
The Big Reds/Redettes now own a 3-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Montezuma for a non-league match on Tuesday, January 7. Centerville will face a Braves squad coming off a 72-63 league win over Keota (Keota, IA). The Braves record now stands at 8-1.
