January 6, 2025: Gwinn, MI 49841 Houghton Gremlins (Houghton, MI) boosters left the game satisfied Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad triumph over the host Gwinn Modeltowners (Gwinn, MI), 80-50 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Houghton upgrades its record to 8-1 on the year. The Gremlins travel to Westwood (Ishpeming, MI) to face the Patriots in a Western Peninsula match on Thursday, January 9. The Patriots enter the match with a record of 8-3. Westwood won 73-44 in their recent non-league match against Gladstone (Gladstone, MI)
The Modeltowners now sport a 2-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Negaunee for a Mid-Peninsula match on Wednesday, January 8. Gwinn will face a Miners squad coming off a 48-19 non-league win over Calumet (Calumet, MI). The Miners record now stands at 6-3.
