West Hancock Eagles (Britt, IA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Bishop Garrigan Golden Bears (Algona, IA), 47-42 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, West Hancock upgrades its record to 3-5 on the campaign. The Eagles host Keokuk (Keokuk, IA) to play the Chiefs in a non-league bout on Monday, January 10. The Chiefs come into the bout with a record of 1-5. Keokuk lost 59-39 in their recent non-league bout against Burlington (Burlington, IA)

Next up, the Golden Bears play the Belmond-Klemme Broncos (Belmond, IA) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 11. Bishop Garrigan will attempt to upgrade on its 2-8 season record. The Broncos come into the bout with a 0-7 record after their 82-33 league loss to Osage (Osage, IA).
