The Columbus Falcons basketball team (Columbus, MS), was nudged 53-50 in Friday's league battle with the host New Hope Trojans (Columbus, MS)

The Trojans now sport a 10-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Choctaw Central for a non-league battle on Saturday, January 8. New Hope will battle a Warriors team coming off a 67-66 league loss to West Lauderdale (Collinsville, MS). The Warriors record now stands at 16-1.

The Falcons (12-6) will now prepare for their battle against West Point (West Point, MS). The Green Wave come into the 5A Region 1 battle with a 4-4 record. In their last battle, West Point was nudged by Booneville (Booneville, MS), 60-48, in a non-league battle.
