The Lanier Poets (Montgomery, AL) basketball nipped the host Park Crossing Thunderbirds (Montgomery, AL), 50-47 in Friday's non-league test.

The Poets (3-2) will now prepare for their test against Lee (Montgomery, AL). The Generals go into the non-league test with a 5-1 record.

The Thunderbirds now own a 8-9 record. They play next when they travel to Andalusia for a non-league test on Saturday, January 8. Park Crossing will encounter a Bulldogs squad coming off a 29-25 non-league loss to Opp (Opp, AL). The Bulldogs record now stands at 0-3.
