Beresford Watchdogs (Beresford, SD) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting McCook Central/Montrose Fighting Cougars (Salem, SD), 59-51 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Beresford upgrades its record to 4-2 on the season. The Watchdogs host Sioux Valley (Volga, SD) to play the Cossacks in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 7. The Cossacks go into the bout with a record of 5-0. Sioux Valley won 80-48 in their recent non-league bout against Garretson (Garretson, SD)

Next up, the Fighting Cougars play the Beresford Watchdogs (Beresford, SD) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 10. McCook Central/Montrose will attempt to upgrade on its 5-3 season record.
