North Carolina High School Basketball - Scotland fells Fairmont

January 7, 2023: Fairmont, NC 28340

Scotland Fighting Scots (Laurinburg, NC) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Fairmont Golden Tornadoes (Fairmont, NC), 53-39 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Scotland upgrades its record to 11-2 on the season. The Fighting Scots host Lee County (Sanford, NC) to play the Yellow Jackets in a 3A/4A Conference 24 bout on Friday, January 13. The Yellow Jackets go into the bout with a record of 6-6.

Next up, the Golden Tornadoes play the West Bladen Knights (Bladenboro, NC) in a 2A Conference 7 bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Fairmont will attempt to upgrade on its 3-10 season record. The Knights go into the bout with a 10-4 record after their 52-44 league loss to East Bladen (Elizabethtown, NC).
