Elgin Owls (Elgin, OK) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Bishop McGuinness Fighting Irish (Oklahoma City, OK), 51-39 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Elgin upgrades its record to 5-1 on the campaign. The Owls travel to Elk City (Elk City, OK) to play the Elks in a Western bout on Friday, January 13. The Elks come into the bout with a record of 1-3.
