Peoria Lions (Peoria, IL) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Champaign Central Maroons (Champaign, IL), 66-34 in a league bout.

With the win, Peoria upgrades its record to 16-2 on the season. The Lions host Richwoods (Peoria, IL) to play the Knights in a Big Twelve bout on Thursday, January 12. The Knights go into the bout with a record of 11-8. Richwoods won 63-35 in their recent league bout against Normal West (Normal, IL)

Next up, the Maroons play the Lincoln Railsplitters (Lincoln, IL) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Champaign Central will attempt to upgrade on its 10-12 season record. The Railsplitters go into the bout with a 20-0 record after their 46-21 league win over Mahomet-Seymour (Mahomet, IL).
